ICC / Sailing Courses

How it works

On a Learn to Sail Holiday, we offer the chance for beginners to gain a level of qualification that suits them.

It is aimed at novice sailors and depending on previous sailing experience, ability and progress throughout the week, we can offer the following certificates, all totally achievable with 6 days sailing.

For those looking to gain an ICC certificate, we offer the opportunity to get most of the theory course work out of the way before your holiday, so you can focus on the fun practical sailing skills out in Greece.

If you have previously completed your ICC qualification with us or a different organisation and are looking to renew your qualification with the IYT, please scroll to the bottom of the page for information on how to do this.

Important Bits

  • In order to sail a yacht without a skipper on board, which is part of your Learn to Sail holiday in Greece, at least one person on board MUST complete the online ICC theory course.
  • The correct ICC course is  24m [and under] ICC THEORY COURSE – Coastal Waters – International Edition
  • Other crew members on board don’t have to take any certification if they don’t want to and can decide what level out in Greece.
  • The ICC certificate is only available to UK residents.  Note – we offer Flotilla Skipper certificate for those who are not UK residents which is essentially the same course.
  • The ICC costs 140 dollars paid online for the pre-holiday theory course and 110 euros paid in Greece for the assessment and final certification.
  • If 2 or more persons on board take the ICC course then EACH person is required to register as a student and EACH person must complete their own online theory course.
