A Skiing Holiday in Vaujany: Something for Everyone
The interesting thing about a skiing holiday in Vaujany is that all types of people love them: singles, couples, families…there really is something for everyone!
A skiing holiday In Vaujany Is pretty magical
It’s nearly that time of year again and we’re itching to get back out on the mountain with our Snow Trek adventure holidays.
The skiing in Vaujany is fantastic. It’s most likely the reason you’re considering going, right? And this alone should it be reason enough to book a skiing holiday in Vaujany – if none of the others appeal. There’s sure to be something that hits the spot, no matter what your level or fear-factor may be.
It’s also an extremely pretty ski area with picnic spots galore, so don’t forget your camera!
Unspoilt and undiscovered
Skiing off-piste in Vaujany offers something totally different. As of yet, very few skiers have discovered the backcountry skiing in this area. Those of us that have experienced it, know it is something truly special.
Vaujany is very close to La Grave – Europe’s (and perhaps the world’s) most famous off-piste ski area. Yet often I meet La Grave guides skiing in Vaujany.
Why? Because off-piste conditions are often better than on the notoriously fickle La Grave slopes.More about our ski holidays in Vaujany
You won’t get bored
The entire Alpe d’Huez ski domain is on your doorstep, with nearly 250 km of pistes, 84 lifts, the incredible Sarenne (the longest black run in Europe) and the famous Ski Everest Challenge.
Simply hop on the cable car in the morning and find yourself smack in the middle of one of the most exciting ski area in the Alps.
I promise it’s a brilliant area to explore – but there’s only one way to find out if I’m telling the truth…
The snow is reliable
Another wonderful thing about this place (yes, it just gets better and better) is the snow.
Where booking a ski holiday in other resorts in December can be hit and miss – and you may well end up with closed lifts and limited icy pistes to ski on – there is guaranteed snow in Vaujany due to the Pic Blanc Glacier.
You won’t be held back from really challenging yourself if it’s an adrenaline-filled ski week you’re after. Alternatively, if easy cruising down to lunch is more your style, you’ll still be grateful for the plentiful snow.
The weather rarely disappoints
One of the sunniest resorts in the Alps (nicknamed ‘the island in the sun’) with more than 300 days of glorious skies a year, a skiing holiday in Vaujany offers the perfect opportunity to bask in the sun on a deck chair at a mountain restaurant, or lap up a bluebird day as you explore the mountain.
Not bad, eh? Pleasant temperatures and a slight suntan make the whole adventure that extra bit wonderful.
The perfect destination for little ones
Ski-Trek and Vaujany welcome children of all ages. Such a compact and friendly resort is ideal for small children (trust me, they will complain if they have to walk too far in ski boots!)
Everything’s easy to get to – the ski school commute will be quick and painless. It’s also extremely safe if you’ve got teens who fancy a bit of independence in the evenings.
You can relax back at the chalet while they socialise and burn off any energy they have left after skiing.
There’s a lovely creche for kids up to 11 years old. It’s very flexible and the older ones can mix skiing with other daytime activities. There’s also a friendly local ski school with excellent instructors who speak good English, which will make the learning experience a little less scary.
When the skiing day is over, there’s also plenty to keep kids occupied in the evenings. Despite being a small village, Vaujany boasts facilities of a high standard (like those you’d expect in a bigger resort).
The giant indoor swimming pool, complete with waterslides, an international-scale indoor ice rink, as well as a ten pin bowling complex mean there’s plenty of entertainment around.Enqiure about our ski holiday today
Or maybe it’s a kid-free break you’re after?
If it’s a child-free, relaxing holiday or a short break away from the kids that you seek, then look no further. We all need a bit of adult time now and again. Vaujany has a laid-back nature, which means it’s just as good for couples and groups of adults.
Treat yourself to a relaxing evening after a hardcore day on the slopes – there are plenty of welcoming local bars and eateries (more about this later).
You deserve a break – unwind in one of our cosy chalets, enjoying a delicious 4-course meal complete with French wine and good company.
So have a think about that; I’ll leave you with the image of gorgeous powder runs and adventures in the untouched off-piste outback.Book your ski holiday in France
