Day 1: Ag. Efimia to Fiscardo

Boats in Ag Efimia harbour

Set sail from our Flotilla Base at Ag. Efimia heading up the coast to the vibrant port of Fiskardo. There is always a lot of going on in this busy little town, with a fair few superyachts dropping anchor each day. A short walk from town are some stunning little beaches – A great place to chill out after the first day of sailing.

Day 2: Fiscardo to Vassiliki

Fiskardo, Kefalonia

Today we leave Kefalonia and head for the Ionian Island of Lefkas and the port of Vassiliki. The port and adjacent bay are well known for their watersports with some good winds blowing in from the north-west. There is also plenty to do of an evening in Vassiliki!

Day 3: Vassiliki to Assos

Assos Harbour

We head back to Kefalonia today and the unique little harbour of Assos. This beautiful and very colourful little village sits below a ruined hilltop fortress. The fortress is well worth the walk up the hill. The tavernas sit on the back of the pretty little harbour beach with its idyllic blue water.

Day 4: Assos to Atheras

Myrtos Beach

We leave Assos and swing south to cross the Kolps Mirtou. If we pick up a good northerly breeze, there might be time to stop off at the stunning Myrtos beach (featured in the film, Captain Correlis Mandolin) Otherwise it’s on to Atheras, our penultimate evening stop.

This quiet, secluded beach is the reputed home of Odysseus. It’s perfect for an evening swim and there are a handful of tavernas on the back of the beach for an evening meal.

Day 5: Atheras to Lixouri

Aerial view of our Learn to Sail marina and sailing area

On the final full day of sailing, we head for Lixouri. We round the southern point of the Paliki peninsula and into the beautiful Gulf of Argostoli, home to our beach clubs and Learn To Sail yachts. Lixouri is a traditional Greek town – Come 9pm, the town square is normally heaving with everyone from Granny to little ones sitting out enjoying the restaurants and tavernas.

Day 6: Free Sail Day

Sailing in Kefalonia

Our final day is a free sail day. Argostoli is a short hop over the other side of the gulf. Rabbit Island or Vatsa beach are also perfect options for a day sail. Lixouri is also right on t he doorstep, so perhaps you just want to chill out and go for a little explore, or you could rent yourself 4 wheels and go for a drive!

The above itinerary is not fixed with the prevailing wind direction being the deciding factor
