July to August | Kefalonia, Greece | Prices from £350pp
Overlooking the olive groves with stunning views across the Ionian sea and mountains beyond, our Paliki Beach Club is something special. The lovely pool, taverna and bar are at the heart of this great little beach sailing club. We’ve a fantastic choice of rooms, villas with pools and beach houses to suit your group and budget.
A friendly qualified team, new water sports kit, brilliant sailing conditions, zinging fresh local taverna food, and a friendly laid back atmosphere with plenty of soul all make this a fantastic sailing holiday in Greece.
We keep our club numbers around 70 guests so we can offer a friendly personal service and a wide range of exceptionally well maintained kit – ideal for families and couples who want to spend quality time together.
We don’t over organise either, and offer this beach holiday on a bed and breakfast board, leaving you free to dip in an out as you wish to get a real flavour for the fantastic area, gorgeous food and local personalities.
Well known for its starring role in the film ‘Captain Correlis Mandolin’, Kefalonia has a stunning coastal scenery, a fascinating rural charm and incredibly friendly locals. It’s a laid-back place where the pace is set firmly to slow. Life here in Lixouri, the friendly little town only 1km along the coast from our Paliki Beach Club revolves around the main square, where you’ll find local tavernas, bars and lively pavement cafés – and our great little yacht marina.
Who’s it for ?
Paliki Beach Club has that wonderful, uncomplicated charm that all small, family-run hotels seem to have. Many of our guests have made friends with the lovely family who run the place and with our friendly, professional beach team. If you like giant hotels with spas, water parks, and mass catering then look elsewhere.
It’s the perfect place to “give it a go” , try one of the activities on offer and let our RYA instructors show you the ropes in total safety – dip in and out as you wish. All manner of Dinghies, Catamarans, Sups and Kayaks are available to suit all levels from novice to expert and a good selection of windsurf kit too.
Out of school holiday periods and away from the crowds we often have solo travelers enjoying the sun and water sports. Its the kind of place where there’s loads to do and everyone is really friendly. The island is a fascinating place to explore with excellent local walks, museums and places of interest.
There’s no doubt that if you can, June and Sept are the best months to visit Kefalonia. Cheap flights, less intense heat, loads of free sailing equipment and a wonderfully relaxed vibe about the place. Oh, and endless games of pit pat and backgammon.
It’s amazing for families and ideally suited for children over 12 years old, especially teens, as we don’t offer specific kids clubs and it’s a short walk into town with all it’s cafe’s, bars and summer buzz. However, our friendly beach team do all they can to get everyone on the water with sailing clinics and other fun activities organised on the beach such as volley ball and SUP excursions. A perfect family holiday.
Choose your accommodation
We’ve an excellent range of rooms, hand-picked villas with pools and beach houses to suit your group and your pocket. Some of our properties are on-site, a stones throw from the club pool area, and others literally just a short level stroll away. No matter where you stay though, you’re always part of that Paliki Beach Club house party vibe and have full access to all the water sports & shore based facilities.
We are so lucky to have a such safe sandy beach virtually to ourselves, with cross shore reliable winds in an incredible sailing area – only about 60 metres from the club pool.
Our beach club opens it’s shack doors at 10 am and carries on through until the early evening to make the most of the best wind, closed over lunch. The water sports facilities are available 6 days per week, usually shut on our main changeover day Tuesday. We’ve a first come first serve system and we keep an eye out to ensure it’s fair, there is no need to pre-book boats, just turn up and go. The guys on the beach will help advise on the right kit to take out, rig and prepare it, and see you out safely.
In the morning whilst there’s light winds and calm seas it’s ideal for beginners in our stable dinghies, learning to windsurf and checking out our free tuition clinics . Or just lounge by the pool with a book, snorkel off the beach and explore the reefs, or take a stand up paddle board along coastline with a guide and stop for a coffee or ice cream along the way.
The afternoon’s fresh cross shore winds are perfect for performance sailing on cats, all with that “piece of mind” of our support boat on hand to help.
NEW for 2017 we now have a day yacht available for trips with our without a skipper from the club ( not inclusive ).
Safety on the water is of course our first priority. Fully qualified RYA instructors run the beach operation and are vigilant both on the beach ,and on the water in our registered rescue craft with handheld VHF radios, always working to strict safety ratios and other proven guidelines. Mandatory buoyancy aids, mast floats on all boats to prevent full capsizes, prop guards on the safety boats, restricted sailing areas and a compulsory “safety clinic” at the start of the week are just some of the many things we do.
free tuition clinics
We offer free small group “clinics” throughout the week on the beach and in the water.

windsurf – starboard rio
These are the boards that cover learning, progressing and planing for the first time. They are considered all-rounders because they are equally good at providing stability for beginners to learn and providing power for progressing windsurfers to get planing smoothly. Once planing, the Rios feel responsive and fun. These qualities also make the Rio the number one choice for dozens of schools and centres.
windsurf – starboard carve / ATOM
The essence of freeride. The 2014/15 shapes are 8% slimmer on average in the midsection meaning they are extra stable and cover an even wider wind range than ever before. They plane earlier, carry bigger sails and ultimately reach faster speeds than before – more often and more effortlessly making these the ultimate plug and play freeride board. 95, 110 and 120 litre options
Windsurf sails – tushingham concept
The Concept’s power, super-easy handling and light weight make it the very best sail for progression and with respectable top-end stability, it will last well beyond the early stages of planing. 4.5m to 7m sizes to suit all winds.
SUPS – by Red
The World’s favourite inflatable S.U.P. shape, the Red Air is a classic design, with versatility and easy paddling for all but the heaviest of riders. River, ocean, flat water and small to medium waves – an easy-going nature that works for a huge range of riders in the widest range of environments.
sit on kayaks
Having two seats, the popular Bay 2 Kayak also allows the transport of a child in the central seat. Easy to carry and with excellent stability.

the food at the beach club
